Death of a retired Police Officer: D/Sgt Ken Gaffney

It is with regret that we have to inform you of the death of a retired Police Officer: D/Sgt Ken Gaffney who sadly passed away on the 17th January 2019, aged 89yrs.
Ken was a police officer in Houghton le Spring ( Durham pre 1974) and retired from Northumbria Constabulary as a D/Sgt based in Newcastle in 1978

Death of a retired Police Officer : PC 1422 Raymond Michael Keen

It is with regret that we have to announce the death of a retired Police Officer : PC 1422 Raymond Michael Keen.
He passed away on the 7th January 2019. He was aged 55 years.
Ray was a dearly loved husband of Charlotte, loved dad of Megan, dearly loved son of Michael and the late June and loved brother of Carol.
Raymond joined Durham Constabulary on the 16th April 1984 and he retired from the force on the 15th April 2014.
The funeral service will be taking place on the 24th January 2019 at 11.45am at St.Hilda's Chapel, Teesside Crematorium, this will then be followed by refreshments at Middleton St. George Cricket Club. The funeral service is not private and everyone is welcome.
Our thoughts are with the family at this sad time.
Donations in lieu of flowers have been requested to the British Heart Foundation

There is a bar at the premises & light refreshments are provided

Death of retired civilian employee 5300 : Gillian Pitcher

It is with regret that we have to inform you of the death of retired civilian employee 5300 : Gillian Pitcher (Nee Beckett), aged 57yrs,  who died peacefully at home on the 22nd December2018.
Gillian joined Durham Constabulary on the 25th February 1988 and served as a Communications Clerk, Enquiry and Communications Officer, Senior Operator and as a Dispatcher, she retired from the force on the 1st October 2008.
Gillian was the wife of Jim Pitcher (NARPO Member), much loved step-mother to Amanda, Lisa, Samantha and James and their families.
Friends please meet at Wear Valley Crematorium, on Tuesday, January 8th, at 1.30pm. 
No flowers by request, donations in memory of Gillian can be left at the Crematorium for Kidney Research.
Everyone is welcome to attend the Three Tuns pub at Toft Hill after the funeral.
