Death of a retired Police Officer - Sgt James Robert (Jim) McIntosh

It is with regret that we announce the death of retired officer Mr. James Robert (Jim) McIntosh from Catterick, North Yorkshire who died on 01/12/2010 aged 72 years.
Mr. McIntosh originally joined Durham Constabulary and served at Barnard Castle and Bishop Auckland before transferring in the rank of Sergeant to Northumbria Police in April 1974. During his service with Northumbria he was posted to the Regional Crime Squad which was based at Durham at the time. Mr. McIntosh retired from Sunderland (West) in 1988/89.

I remember experiencing many interesting times with Jim when he was a D/Sgt on the then 2RCS. He was a good team player who had lots of stories to tell. A sad loss.
