It is with regret that we have to announce the death of a retired Police Officer : PC 865 John (Jack) Currie, who died on the 19th May 2017. He was aged 83 years.
He leaves a widow Betty.
Jack was appointed at Durham Constabulary on the 25th October 1954, he served at Chester le Street, Bishop Auckland, HQ CID Crime Patrols, motor patrols, the marine underwater search unit and Bishop Auckland.
He retired from West Auckland on the 31st October 1984.
The funeral service will be taking place on the 2nd June at Wear Valley Crematorium at Bishop Auckland at 11.00am. The funeral service is not private.
Donations have been requested in lieu of flowers to the Air Ambulance.
Our thoughts are with the family at this sad time.
