Death of a retired Police Officer : Sergeant 115 George Dent Barnes

It is with regret that we have to announce the death of a retired Police Officer :  Sergeant 115 George Dent Barnes, who passed away on the 23^rd March 2018. He was aged 89 years.
He leaves a widow, Joan
George joined Durham Constabulary in 1949 and served at West Hartlepool, Eighton Banks, Chester-Le-Street, Darlington, Houghton, Ryhope, Leechmere, Cherry Knowle, HQ Admin and CID Admin. He retired from the force in 1974.
The funeral service will be taking place on the 10^th April at 11.30am at Durham Crematorium, the service is not private.
Donations have been requested in lieu of flowers to Marie Curie.
