It is with regret that we have to inform you of the death of retired Police Officer : PC 2369 James (Jim) Kenneth Jennings, who died peacefully at home on Saturday 14th December 2019, aged 73 years.
Jim joined Durham Constabulary on the 9th July 1973 and served at Durham City, Sherburn Road Estate and Peterlee CID before retiring as a Communications Officer on 22nd December 2000.
Jim was the treasurer of Durham Football Club for some time and willingly took up the office of Treasurer to the Durham Branch of NARPO, which became vacant in 2016.  He stepped down from that post in March 2019 due to ill health, but wishing to continue to help and support the branch, he took up the position of Welfare Officer, which he continued to do up to his death.
Jim was a much loved husband to Eileen, father to Vicky, Emma and Katy, and grandfather to Matthew, Joseph and Luke.
Jim will be sadly missed by his family and friends as well as the officers, committee and members of the Durham Branch of NARPO.
