Death of a Widow Member of the Durham Branch of NARPO : Mrs Jessie Hunter Gray

It is with regret that we have to inform you of the death of a Widow Member of the Durham Branch of NARPO : Mrs Jessie Hunter Gray, who died on the 21st April 2020 aged 104 years.
She leaves a daughter, Christina (Rina).
Jessie was the widow of the late PC James (Jim) Spiers Gray (PC 188, which was later changed to PC 686), who had served at Crook, Horden and latterly Stanhope from where he retired in the late 1960’s.
After Jim’s retirement they both became involved in local activities and rural matters.
Jessie was a very keen photographer and a member of the local photographic society.
A caricature of Jim Gray appeared in the Winter 2016 edition of the Durham Peeler (Page 20).
A private funeral due to current circumstances takes place on Wednesday 29th April at 12 noon
Our thoughts are with the family at this sad time.
