Death of a retired Police Officer - Sgt 321 George William Lear

It is with regret that we announce the death of retired Sergeant 321 George William LEAR who died on 14th October 2011 aged 76 years.
Mr. Lear retired from Darlington on 16th January 1985 following 29 years service.  He had previously served at Headquarters, Bishop Auckland, Houghton-le-Spring, Dishforth, Teesdale and Darlington.

These are the directions from the undertakers : On the approach to Blyth there is a roundabout with a large Asda store – take the 2nd exit which is the last into Blyth and you will see Cowpen Road signposted from there. Follow the road past an industrial estate with Homebase and other stores situated there. Just after the industrial estate the cemetery is signposted on the right hand side directly opposite the Shell garage.
