It is with regret that we have to inform you of the death of a retired Police Officer : PC 2330 William Finnigan, who passed away on the 11th February 2020. He was aged 50 years.
William leaves a widow Sally and two sons Jack and Niamh, he is the son of Elizabeth and Patrick and brother of Patrick.
William joined Durham Constabulary on the 5th April 2004 and left the force on the 18th February 2019.
The funeral service is taking place on the 26th February 2020 at 2pm at St. Bede’s RC Church, Sacriston this will be followed by the burial.
The funeral service is not private.
Refreshments will take place afterwards at the cricket club in Chester-le-Street.
A special request from the family is that anyone wishing to attend the funeral, if they could wear something green.
